The ideal background
With a father who was tour manager for the Bolshoi Ballet and a member of touring rock band and an uncle who was tour manager for the South African Ballet, it may seem that Simon was destined to work in the entertainment industry.
He began working in his uncle's hotel at the age of 14 and, in his teens, he was constantly surrounded by events and music. A two year spell in engineering fed Simon's fascination with building things and discovering how they work.
Part-time bar work at the Hughes Corporation and TGI Fridays added the skill of cocktail flairing to Simon's repertoire and after meeting his partner Lynda, the couple bought the Moorlands Inn, on the oustkirts of Halifax.

The personal touch
After staging a number of successful events at the Moorlands Inn, Simon was asked to manage events further afield in 2002. Word of mouth recommendations soon followed and by maintaining the
personal touch, Hire Class Events now has a local, regional and national reputation.
Our customers soon get to know Simon and he works hard, along with the HCE team to bring an element of fun and enjoyment to the staging of events.
"We know that events can be stressful, but we try to put our customers at ease from the start. We have staged hundreds of events and we pride ourselves on thinking of everything. Nothing is overlooked and we do everything we can to ensure our customers enjoy their event every bit as much as their guests."
